WALKING WITH AUTUMN
~ by Fern S. Agee ~

I went walking before the sun was rising
Sundry thoughts were mine on this crisp Autumn morning.
Dazzling hues dance all around
Overhead flocks of geese abound.
I behold
Red and gold...
The Eastern sky is colored like vivid Autumn leaves
As rhyming words I begin to perceive.
Should you go walking
When the fiery leaves are falling,
You, too, will see in Autumn the passing of the years
And recall experiences of laughter and tears
Flowing onward in memory's vision--
Flowing, flowing, flowing with such precision!
Might this wandering last all day
While in my revery I stay?
Just walking through the corridor of Autumn
Can be so blissful
As I feel Autumn's sky warming still
Knowing too soon it'll yield to winter's chill!
