The Virginia Tech Massacre by Sharlett Hunt

The Virginia Tech Massacre

My sincere thanks to Sharlett for writing this for my site.

Lifeless bodies all around

Gunshots were the only sound

A lone gunman standing there

A shooter with an evil stare.

Thirty-two students died that day

Historical tragedy some will say

Families and friends who felt the loss

Will always remember the price it cost

The horror as a nation mourns

As two had died inside a dorm

With no idea before its through

The body count was thirty-two

There's problems in this world today

When children go to school okay

Then die before the day is through

It's all affecting me and you

Protect our children, that's a given

Ensure their chance to go on living

That's been our goal but now we cry

For God alone to answer why.
