Little Toes by Cindy Allen

Little Toes

Little feet go marching
Up and down the road
Dust is swirling gracefully
Around lots of little toes

Laughter flowing freely
As giggles fill the air
Among the birds and butterflies
With smiles for all to share

The sun streams through, the big oak trees
As it cast a cooling shade
Little faces smiling
At the footprints they have made

Their eyes bright with sunshine
Their innocence so sweet
Sadness has not touched their souls
And they have no need to weep

Life will never taint them
Their hearts are pure as gold
They will forever remain children
And never will grow old

These are the ones God chose
To be right by His side
At an early age they learned
How to spread their wings and fly

With joyful hearts the angels sing
And praise our Lord above
As they sing with opened wings
Their hearts are filled with love

For kneeling down toward the ground
Is our Heavenly Host
Brushing off the dust
From lots of little toes
