And In Heaven I Am Whole

This acrostic poem is written in memory of Nixzmary Brown by Elizabeth Velez. My sincere thanks for permission to use it on my site.

Another night of what seems like
Never-ending torture
Daylight seems to take forever to come.

I am trembling and calling your
Name "Mommy, don't leave me...Don't..leave..me

Here to die!!! Mommy, don't leave me!!!
Each day I cried ... you ignored me..
And tonight... was the last night you'd ever hear my screams!
Viciously, you battered my body and soul..leaving me with
Endless nights of pure pain...and hunger
Not once did you try to save me... not once did you care that

I was dying...
Alone..and without your love.
Mommy, don't leave me!!!

Will those words ever haunt you?
How can you say you still love the man that killed me?
Only God will have that answer. I only hope that you
Learn to love Him... for He has taken me to
Eternal Paradise!
