HELPING HANDS ALL AROUND
~ By Fern S. Agee ~
Whether it's the two hands of time
Or these hands of mine,
They have so much to give
As long as I shall live.
They've reached out in work and play
As I've gone my way each day;
They've reached out while preparing to teach
And comforted the discouraged within reach.
Tried to help in caring love
While assisting others to look above.
Helping hands extended to those who were down
In an attempt to wipe away a deep frown;
Hands upon a shoulder
Of those getting older...
Hands extended to lead
Those whose faltering steps impede
Hands extended to help one out
To give assurance without doubt.
Hands are valuable, yes indeed,
Throughout anyone's time of need.
Helping hands are dear to the heart
Of one who has been given a new start.
Just look around--
So many helping hands can be found
Among retired teachers who are in demand...
They're still working for students hand in hand.
